Whether it is the identification and development of water supplies, dewatering mines, quarries, tunnels and construction sites, the assessment or management of water quality, or the development of efficiency, reuse and water usage strategies, ENSR’s specialists can provide solutions related to both groundwater and surface water. To assist clients tackle water resource management issues, ENSR employs a range of hydrogeologists, hydrologists, geohydrologists, ecologists, water chemists and environmental engineers with years of experience in projects to optimise water resource potential. Many of these experts have been involved in award winning innovations for client’s projects, such as the Consultants Excellence Award in the 2004 UDIA (Urban Development Institute of Australia) for excellence for environmental and water services at the Pacific Harbour Development, Bribie Island, Queensland. ENSR also offers integrated services in catchment management and sustainability and strategic solutions to water resources issues.
To assist clients meet this challenge, ENSR has established a broad network of environmental consulting and contracting professionals. This national network offers the delivery of natural resource management services ranging from ecology through to hydrogeology. A good example of the firm’s capability is the consultation and analysis being performed for the Murray Darling Basin Commission (as part of the Watermark Consortium). This work involves reviewing the sustainability of present irrigation practices across the Murray Darling Basin. Following extensive consultation with water and catchment management authorities, ENSR has identified numerous opportunities to better manage irrigation practices.
ENSR excels in the groundwater field with the skills and experience to undertake groundwater resource evaluation, flow or transport modeling, groundwater control, groundwater contamination assessment, salt water intrusion and salinisation studies, aquifer management and conjunctive use studies.
