Defence

Since being appointed to the Defence Environmental Panel in 2000, ENSR has grown to become one of the largest suppliers of environmental services to Defence.

In Profile

The Department of Defence faces a number of unique environmental management challenges due to its physical size and complex structure, geographical spread and extreme range of activities.  In addition to these factors, a high level of scrutiny is placed on Defence by a range of stakeholders, including members of the public, Parliament and interest groups, all keen to ensure Defence is managing its activities in a sustainable manner.

ENSR understands that in response to these challenges, Defence must demonstrate an awareness of the environmental risks posed by its activities and that it has in place systems, processes and defensible documentation to manage these risks to an acceptable level.  Ability to respond in a timely manner to increasing or changing capability directives is the key outcome of this process when undertaken successfully.  To assist Defence in this task, ENSR offers an extensive national team of experienced and dedicated staff, as well as a strong network of alliance partners. ENSR can hand-pick specialist teams to service the particular needs of Defence, whether it be practical solutions on the ground in the most remote parts of the country or in highly specialised fields, or strategic solutions tailored to high-level management issues.
